Event: Kananaskis

Event goes from: October 13, 2007

A few of us from ORCKA are trying to get out kayaking before it gets too cold, so we want decided to hit up the Kananaskis River outside of Calgary on Saturday the 13th! Its a dam fed, class 2/class 3 river with man made surf holes/waves that make it a very active river (a lot of bang for your buck). We are hoping to get as many paddlers as we can for a car pool and make it an exciting trip!
The majority of time on the river will be spent Surfing (parking in an eddie & taking turns playing in the waves); Therefore, it would be a good idea if you came with a bomb-proof roll (or a pretty consistent roll). It will make the paddle easier for you and for others!
The Barrier dam opens flows on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. and runs until 7:00 p.m. (See link below)

We will want to leave Lethbridge around 10:00 a.m. and get to the river a little before flows open so we can have as much fun as possible.
If you would like to come PLEASE leave a comment OR call Janson (894-7773) so we can arrange the best possible car pool arrangements!!!
Come and meet or hang out with some of the paddlers of ORCKA on the Kan!
